Have you ever played the game "six degrees of separation"? It is based on the 1929 theory by the Hungarian writer Frigyes Karinthy that anyone on Earth can be connected to anyone else through a chain of acquaintances of five intermediaries. PRI operates on the "six degrees of separation" principle, and has access to exactly the expertise needed, when needed. We work with "out of the box" thinkers - independent consultants, small niche companies, academics - who work with PRI not only for the intellectual challenge but also because our project management staff takes care of the "noise" and frees them up to focus on the challenge at hand. Our approach means low overhead, fast response, and a highly adaptive and agile business solution - all attributes that traditional organizations wish they could have. The bottom line is that when you need to respond to a paradigm shift, a company like PRI offers a vastly superior value proposition over any traditional organization. Our Beliefs Paradigm Research International is a strategy company that recognizes the importance of research and communications to create positive change. Our core staff members are all personally motivated to make the world a better place and believe that education, local economic development, access to free and unbiased media, sustainable use of natural resources, and a stable and transparent democratic government are the best means to a fair, equitable and sustainable way of life. However trite it might sound, we are "do gooders" and proud of it. What's a Paradigm? We have found it useful to define paradigms in terms of a hierarchy of
"nested value boxes" (like the famous Russian Matryoshka nesting
dolls). Strategic problems and opportunities often express themselves
when a value box at some level of the hierarchy suffers a complete breakdown,
below which the entire chain of value then breaks down. In these cases,
solutions must be found and applied at the next higher box. The difficulty
is recognizing that there is a complete breakdown, understanding where
it is in your paradigm hierarchy, and then making sure that strategic
actions are applied above the breakdown.
